Become a Tobacco Free Workplace TODAY!

This year, a group of Interdisciplinary Community Health Scholar (ICHS) Students focused on creating a new curriculum that describes the process of taking an establishment smoke free. The team of students researched the dangers of cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, Hookah, and other nicotine containing habits and their cost to employers as it pertains to sick leave and other health care expenses. The students also focused on the economic burden that smoking has on productivity. The goal of this project is to provide a clear and specific timeline that can be implemented in different organizations.

This is Not What Life After You Quit Smoking



 
The second group of ICHS students created a program targeting pregnant women. This group of students researched the health impact smoking has on fetus as well as the health impact second hand smoke has on children.  The group collaborated with members of the Pasco County Health Department and they developed a presentation which will be distributed throughout Pasco County. The goal of this project is to create materials that provide information and assistance this target population.
